Welcome.

Hangover Lounge was created as a digital, non-fiction production company by filmmakers Raymond De Felitta and David Zellerford, and named after a legendarily divey, mid-20th century, Philly-jazz joint while making our first feature documentary film, ‘TIS AUTUMN: THE SEARCH FOR JACKIE PARIS. It’s where we've been able to develop and create meaningful films like, BOOKER’S PLACE: A MISSISSIPPI STORY, as well as reflect on the art, history and business of the entertainment industry.

Podcasting and audio storytelling has become another extension of Hangover Lounge and a platform for the kind of material and subjects that we're excited to share with you.

Our programming consists of two styles of podcasts: Historical and A-list interview shows and serialized narrative storytelling.

Examples of interview podcasts include Raymond’s currently streaming, Movies ‘Til Dawn, featuring conversations with cinema icons including John G. Avildsen, Peter Bogdanovich, Andy Garcia, Griffin Dunne, Mary Harron, John Sayles, Jerry Schatzberg and many others. Additional interview shows on our slate include Hollywood vs. Race, a guest hosted show where diverse filmmakers discuss historical stories of personalities and communities that have been marginalized by the Hollywood machine because of their ethnicity; The Long Plastic Hallway, an interview show about the vagaries of the music business, featuring insider personalities and their sometimes unbelievable stories of excess from the worlds of Pop, Rock and HipHop through the 1990’s; and Cabaret Nights, a celebrity hosted show that features exclusive interviews with legendary performers and modern torch bearers from the “golden years” of cabaret in New York and LA. Never before heard interviews with Carol Burnett, Phyllis Diller, Dick Cavett, Jonathan Winters, Polly Bergen, Orson Bean, Shelley Berman, Joan Rivers and more.

Our narrative storytelling podcasts consists of two flagship shows: Screenplay Resurrection and Musical Theater Resurrection, each featuring original material for stage and screen that has yet to see the light of day. We will present top-notch unproduced movies and theatrical shows as episodic podcasts with full casts, sound design and music. Writers and their teams submit a synopsis and writing sample of their original feature or full-length work. Semifinalists are selected after a rigorous examination process to assure that the podcast adaptations of the scripts will attract a large and rapt audience of fans of great audio storytelling. Our subscribers then select the finalists that will have their screenplay or musical produced as the next season of Screenplay Resurrection or Musical Theater Resurrection. Included in each of the podcasts seasons is a final bonus episode featuring interviews with the writer and producer team or cast members discussing each projects creative history, production journey and the creator's hopes and goals for that projects future. Screenplay Resurrection semifinalists will also have the option to participate in our upcoming Cinefone podcast series, which presents listeners the chance to hear original feature screenplays in a single, abridged episode with narration and dialogue set to music and sound effects.

The business goal of our narrative storytelling series’ is to attract investors and producers of movies and musicals to realize the material, with Hangover Lounge and our collaborators participating both creatively and financially.
